How it plays
Two hands. One unbroken note.
Like the instrument it descends from, Syntheremin Instrument is played entirely in the air — through slow, continuous motion instead of taps and keys.
Carry the level
Raise a relaxed open hand to swell and lower it to quiet. Hold still for a steady level, or close your fist for an immediate mute.
Capture a thread
Bring two fingertips together to create a magnetic thread that follows your live pitch and volume. Stretch it for harmonics, pull apart to release.

A voice, not a keyboard.
Syntheremin Instrument synthesizes one continuous monophonic voice, so glides, vibrato, and intonation survive the way they do on a real theremin. Magnetic note gravity nudges you toward the note you meant without flattening the way you got there.

Private by construction
The camera feeds the instrument. Nothing else.
Camera frames exist only inside the live capture pipeline — the app writes nothing to disk and uploads nothing. There is no account, no server, and no analytics added by the app. Recording taps the synthesizer output, so the microphone permission is never even requested.

What do I need to play it?+
An iPhone with a TrueDepth front camera — the same hardware that powers Face ID. The app uses it to keep two-hand tracking and fingertip resonance stable.
When can I get it?+
Syntheremin Instrument is currently available to invited TestFlight testers. Request access and we'll send an invitation when space opens up.
Do I need an account?+
No. The app opens straight into the instrument. There is nothing to sign into.
Can I record what I play?+
Recording captures the synthesizer's own output directly — clean, and without ever using the microphone.
